Mandala is a charming, self-contained holiday home with 3-4 bedrooms that can sleep up to 11 people. The home has been tastefully decorated to create a relaxed atmosphere, blending seamlessly into its private bushland setting, which is also home to native wildlife, birds, trees, and shrubs.

The home overlooks the historic D’Entrecastaux channel, with impressive views of the Hartz Mountains. This stunning backdrop is perfect for enjoying an al fresco coffee, a leisurely lunch, or a glass of local wine as the sun sets.

While peaceful and secluded, Mandala is conveniently located near local facilities and attractions. A short 15-minute stroll or a 3-minute drive takes you to the small township of Alonnah, which has a white sandy beach, a boat ramp, a jetty, and the only Hotel Bruny Restaurant on the island. Many of Bruny Island’s other attractions, including wild cliffs, bushwalks, historic sites, artisanal food producers, and the famous Pennicott Cruise, are just a short drive away.

Inside Your Bruny Island Home

Mandala beautifully combines rustic charm with quality modern comforts. The building, features a large open-plan kitchen and living area with a wood-heater. A large front window offers stunning views over the channel and mountains. The dining area opens onto a spacious deck with a BBQ and outdoor seating, perfect for a feast while enjoying the scenery.

A wooden stairway leads to a loft bedroom with a double and single bed, perfect for a quiet read or extra sleeping space. Downstairs, the hallway leads to two queen-sized bedrooms, both with views, and a bunk room that sleeps four. The downstairs area also includes a main bathroom, laundry, and an additional guest toilet.

Explore the Native Garden and Bushland

From the deck, wide steps lead down into the landscaped garden that surrounds the house, games shed and cubby house. The woodshed is just few meters away from the main entrance. The garden seamlessly blends into the native bush at the sides, front, and rear of the property. A narrow path from the front driveway leads about 30 meters down to the water’s edge. Keep an eye out for wallabies and wild birds, who are frequent visitors to the area.
